Monolith memorials
What are monolith memorials?
These are the monuments that are fixed in a concrete cradle 1/3rd below ground. The memorial is usually 2’6” overall above ground level, however certain cemeteries allow different height regulations up to 3’0” out of the ground.
William Kent Memorials Ltd has more than 200 years of experience as monumental masons. We can design monolith memorials as a lasting tribute to your loved one. Please be aware that certain cemeteries insist that only monolith type memorials are erected within their cemetery and we can advise you in respect of this. Most memorials can be adapted to suit these requirements.
Is there anywhere that I can place a flower vase on a monolith memorial?
Option 1
Yes, there are 3 options when it comes to monolith memorials and the bases permitted:
Option 1 would be to have a base that buts up to the memorial, as shown in the picture, giving you the option to have vase containers.
Option 2
Option 2 would be to have a wraparound base that gives the illusion that the memorial is standing on a base and giving you the option to have 1 or 2 vase containers within the base.
Option 3
Option 3 would be to have the memorial erected just straight into the ground for example like the old war graves, however this way there would be no provision to place a flower container.
"From the moment we walked through the doors in Boston we were met with kindness and consideration. Mel was very thorough in explaining what was required and both myself and my mother left feeling that we had made the right choice in using William Kent Memorials. Timelines on the headstone being installed were smashed which in itself made our family very happy. Quality of workmanship was excellent. Highly recommend"
